Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to the SKP Converter website, converter, and file-processing APIs. It complements the Terms of Service and helps keep shared conversion capacity available for legitimate model workflows.

Submit models you are authorized to use

Only submit SKP files that you own or have permission to upload and process. Respect copyrights, licenses, confidentiality agreements, personal information, and the rights of clients, employers, collaborators, and model-library authors.

Changing a file's version does not create permission to distribute, sell, disclose, or reuse a model. You remain responsible for how you use and share the original and converted files.

Respect supported inputs and service limits

Send one supported SKP file per request and follow the documented upload format. The current request-size range is 60 bytes to 100 MiB. Do not deliberately disguise another file type as an SKP model, misstate its size, or send malformed content to exploit the parser or conversion program.

Use only supported target parameters. Do not treat an unsupported target, another 3D export format, or a planned feature as an available conversion route.

Use automation responsibly

Automated clients must respect service capacity, busy responses, timeouts, and retry instructions. A suggested retry delay is not a reservation or a promise that capacity will be available at that time.

Avoid tight retry loops, simultaneous duplicate conversion requests, and repeated uploads intended to consume capacity. Do not work around limits by rotating identities, connection sources, or other request details.

Protect the website and other users

Do not use the service to:

• Upload malware or files intended to compromise processing infrastructure.
• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, storage, systems, or another user's data.
• Probe for or exploit vulnerabilities, bypass safeguards, or interfere with file cleanup.
• Overload, disrupt, or intentionally degrade the site or its processing provider.
• Misrepresent an affiliation with SketchUp, Trimble, SKP Converter, or a model's rights holder.
• Facilitate unlawful activity, rights violations, or unauthorized disclosure of private information.

Review outputs and protect confidential work

Keep an original copy and verify a converted file in the intended SketchUp version. Do not misrepresent a file-header check as verification of all model contents or guaranteed desktop compatibility.

The processing connection currently uses HTTP, and submitted API files are handled by a separate conversion service. Do not submit a model if you lack permission for that processing arrangement. Read the Privacy Policy before sending restricted or sensitive work.

Reporting and access restrictions

If you encounter suspected misuse or a security problem, report the affected page or API endpoint, approximate time, error code if available, and a short description. Do not send an exploit payload, another person's private data, or a confidential model as an unsolicited attachment.

We may reject requests, restrict access, or investigate activity when needed to protect the service or address a violation. Where legally required, relevant information may be retained or provided to appropriate authorities. If you believe a restriction was applied in error, include the request details when contacting support so the situation can be reviewed.
